Welcome to Welcome to Manhattan Home Improvement Referral (MHIR)! MHIR is a local company, which provides a free search service and contractor information to individuals with an upcoming High-End renovation project. MHI locates building professionals through contractor screening, visits to contractor projects, project evaluations, referral checks, verification of contractors standing with the NYC Consumer Affairs and local BBB and surveying your colleagues and neighbors.

MHI has built a collection of High-End Construction Companies. We are continually locating more professionals so that we can assist our clients. Ratings and reviews are continously updated for each Contracting Company.

The MHI High-End Contractor process:

1. Client fills out the Project Inquire form, highlighting their construction objective.

2. MHI representative will contact client, within the same day of form submission, with a phone consultation. If an in person consultation is needed MHIR will meet with the client.

3. MHI learns the basics from the client concerning their project objectives.

4. After evaluation of clients needs, MHIC will introduce clients to professionals that may be the best match for their project goals.

5. MHI works with customers to meet appropriate contractors.

6. MHI is available for any additional research or questions concerning contractor candidates.

7. Client receives answers to questions concerning their contractor candidates. After the client has the information from MHI, along with client’s own research and insight, CLIENT MAKES THEIR OWN FINAL DECISION AND SELECTION OF GENERAL CONTRACTOR OR OTHER PROFESSIONAL.

8. MHI is available during project if client has any questions or inquiries.

9. MHI stays constantly in touch with contractor throughout the renovation project.

10. At the completion of the project MHI meets the client and contractor at the project.

Corporate History

MHI was established in August 1999 as a local home improvement contractor locator service in Manhattan. In 2001 MHI began to work with a number of Contracting Companies specializing in High-End Renovations and Gut Renovations. The response was overwhelming. The demand for specialty contractors and artisans was such that MHI now specializes in High-End Construction Companies. MHI has an extensive customer base of satisfied clients throughout Manhattan.

MHIC Income
MHIC collects a small fee from contractors awarded projects. This fee does not affect the contractors price to customer but is considered part of a contractors buisness operations.
